Connecticut Science Center (Update: Model the Practice!)

Conn. Science Center to expand teacher training

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Connecticut Science Center in Hartford is announcing plans to enlarge its professional development programs for teachers.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is scheduled to join officials from the center Tuesday morning to announce a major expansion of the training initiative.
Besides Malloy, the center’s CEO Matt Fleury, state Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor and Hartford state Sen. John Fonfara are expanded to attend the event at the facility’s Pfizer Foundation Science Discovery Center.
Various professional development programs are currently offered at the science center, including week-long immersion workshops in inquiry-based learning and teaching. There are also workshops to train teachers about the various exhibits and programs available at the science center before they bring students for field trips.
Additional workshops instruct teachers on ways to integrate science with other subject areas.
