Next Generation Science Standards (Update: NGSS)

Update on the Final Release of the Next Generation Science Standards

Thank you for your interest in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  We are excited to report the final set of standards is nearing completion.  Thousands of comments received during the second public comment period have been reviewed and are being carefully incorporated into the standards.

With that background, we wanted to let you know the release of the NGSS will take place during the second week in April (April 8-12).  We will also send out an email notifying you when they are posted.

About NGSS
Next Generation Science Standards for Today's Students and Tomorrow's Workforce: Through a collaborative, state-led process, new K-12 science standards are being developed that will be rich in content and practice, arranged in a coherent manner across disciplines and grades to provide all students an internationally benchmarked science education. The NGSS will be based on the Framework for K-12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council. For more information, please visit our website atwww.nextgenscience.org.
