LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder will deliver his third State of the State address at the Capitol on Jan. 16, officials confirmed Friday.
The 7 p.m. address to a joint session of the Legislature will be carried on many public radio and TV stations. It also will be streamed live on the Internet at www.livestream.com/snyderlive  .
The state constitution requires the governor to “communicate by message to the Legislature at the beginning of each session.”
The address includes plenty of pomp and ceremony. Governors normally highlight events of the past year and talk about plans for the coming one.
Snyder is to deliver his third budget in early February, said Kurt Weiss, a spokesman for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. The exact is not yet confirmed.
