FRONTLINE: The Education of Michelle Rhee (TONIGHT! Detroit Public Television Ch #56 10:00PM)

The most important…or…the dangerous educator in America?

The Education of Michelle Rhee: Frontline – Tonight at 10pm on Detroit Public Television/Ch. 56

Complex, determined, outspoken, relentless, dangerous, insightful?  One of the most important figures in public education over the last decade, Michelle Rhee has changed the dialogue on education in our country.

The former chancellor of Washington, D.C. public schools, Rhee is one of the most admired and reviled school reformers in America.  FRONTLINE was granted unprecedented access to Rhee during her tumultuous three-year tenure as she attempted to fix a broken school system.  As Rhee returns to the national stage, FRONTLINE examines her legacy in Washington, D.C., including her battles with the teacher's union and her handling of a cheating scandal in the district.  THE EDUCATION OF MICHELLE RHEE airs Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10pm on Detroit Public Television.

As the State of Michigan looks for a path forward in public education, this is a program worth your time.

Join us tonight at 10pm and, please, share this with your community.

  1. Definitely not a Student Centered approach. "What kind of gains can you promise me by the end of the year??" Or you are fired so you better rally up the pressure on the troops to start drilling these kids! (Has anybody here ever considered that learning is fun?)

  2. @Monica:

I agree! However Michelle Rhee "a body politic" should not be confused with any real mindful, meaningful learning and understanding methodologies, rubrics, etc. in pursuit of the discovery of new knowledge transfer capabilities and their resultant transformative learning capacities.
